Here's a couple more pics. The first one is another attempt to get a shot of the back. Man, this is making me appreciate what John is doing with the photo shoot thing.

Again, sorry for the crummy pics but I'm not very skilled at using the camera.

Dave, great timing with mothers day this Sunday

Nice guitar:
1) Excellent tonewood and finish
2) Original artistic sound/side port
3) Awesome rosette
4) Love the headstock logo!

Yup Yup Yup...I like it...lots and I am sure your wife is or will be pleased.

Now if you could provide some insight as to how you monetized the instrument in the form of brownie points -- I'd (and the other hounds here) would be indebted to you.
hmmm....maybe I need to build a new shop, then I could turn out a work of art like that.
Yeah, I'm with Rod. I think I need to move also.

Really pretty work!

Trust me on this one guys, moving all that stuff just about killed me! Besides, this one and 3 more were almost finished before the move.

I have 2 dreds (cocobolo/sitka and EIR/englemann) that are almost done and a small 3/4 size that I copied off an old guitar a friend gave me. The bodies are completed, including lacquer, just need to get the necks finished.

Anthony, thanks for the compliments, but I think you have me confused with Peter.

This guitar isn't going to my wife, she doesn't play any instruments. It'll probably either get given away or sold for the cost of materials.

How did you do the logo?

Very nice

Is that neck mahogany or something else?

Nick, the logo is abalone that was cut by Andy DePaule. It matches the logo on my label inside the guitar. Andy is very reasonable on these and has no minimum order.

Kevin, the neck is mahogany. I use a stain, followed by a couple coats of shellac to seal it. Then spray it with McFadden's satin lacquer.
